Time To Sing 06:04
Lyrics: Washed up ashore on strange land, one fine day I had a look around and to my dismay The land I was brought to looked dark, damp, and died A stranger approached me, waved not to say ‘goodbye’. He said, “Hey!” I wizard I am who has lost his great King Casting spells all day long with no praise to sing! But, now there is hope, and that hope is you! Let’s find two more friends and let this song right true.” I said, “Hey!” Hope? Me? What speak you old man what a chore! I was drowning in sorrow and washed up ashore. But, let’s go for what better have I got to do? Staying here would suck more, let’s bid this place adieu.” The land that we travelled just to be clear Were places that I felt to be all too familiar The wizard taught me things and skills I once thought abandoned We then met our 3rd stand straight, his sword rest and granted. We said, “Hey!” He said, “Hey!” The reason that this land is so dull, dark, disordered Is because no limits set, no values, no borders! We must restore what’s been lost to negligence, decay! My sword, his wand, your guitar will restore The Way.” I said, “Hey!” I said, “Hey!” Swell, it’s been, my good friends, but I’ve got to go. All of this is too big, you see? You know? “But wait, young lad, your enemy is still unknown!” “We are here to help to fight — to retake the throne!” Miles I walked, trying to run from thoughts in my mind Terrain I found echoed a voice thought in kind It’s body coiled four stories, black scales in its frills Teeth sharp as daggers, a voice that gave me chills. It said, “Hey!” It said, “Hey!” It seems that destiny has brought you here The throne is mine to which you will never hold dear This song is going to end soon so let me be straight I am the fears, your lack of strength, your shame — your hate!” It was then I realized where I was. This kingdom that was offered me was dead because The light that shined within me was all but ignored Then emerged my friends who wielded a wand and a sword! With mind and might together, a help it would be And with just three chords an affect we could see This monster felt something - a dream from above This chorus of mine reached into its heart with love. We sung, “Hey!” The song made its heart grow from four sizes small Friendship is what it needed for once and for all The Kingdom is now mine - now ours! - to praise! Time to sing one more time with some spirits to raise! We sung, “Hey!” We sung, “Hey!” We sung, “Hey!” We sung, “Hey!” /\ / _ \ \ / \/

about

An EP about claiming what's rightfully yours from the thing that kept it from you in the first place -- yourself. The first four songs tell the story, with the last song telling the whole story in a punk rock folk-song kind of way.

This is the book I wish I could write, but I'm better at making music. For now, anyway.
